This doesn't apply to every gun owner, but it sure applies to some, like this guy:

Ind. man with 47 guns arrested after school threat - Yahoo! News

There are some people on this forum I could name who remind me of this guy. They boast about what high-quality, cutting-edge weapons they have and how efficiently they would be able to kill with it at the drop of a hat. It seems to be a very titillating notion for them, much like porn for a teenager going through puberty.

I don't think a lot of Democrats or apolitical citizens realize how extreme these conservative gun nuts are in their beliefs.

Once you get past the 2nd amendment rights aspect and start talking about what they actually believe about this nation and guns and violence, it is very clear that what undergirds their position are a lot of beliefs that I characterize as conspiracy theories, racism, and fear based.

You cannot have this discussion without dealing with the extreme insanity factor that drives most of their political thinking on this issue.

So according to liberals on this thread if you love anything you are a nut and if you love guns you are terrified and live in fear. LOL

No liberal nut would be passionate about guns or country or cars (unless it's a prius or Smartcar), so you're likely not in that group. You wouldn't happen to also love a quality leather holster and a good knife would you? A nice Benchmade or a hand forged bowie maybe? That would surely put in the right wing nut group. Any other tools of self reliance you're a fan of so we can remove all doubt that you're not in same nut group as Savoir Faire?

Classic Mustang owners here, and we rebuild them thank you very much. Boss 302 and a Boss 429 and yes i love those classic mustangs. Love driving them, it is fun.

I love my family, friends and life. AS for anything material, certain things i like better then others, but as far as loving furniture, or material things, nope. These things can be replaced, loved ones cannot. I love my house yes i do, because it is a place we call HOME.

We own guns yes we do always have, come from a hunting family, and from small children us kids brother and my cousins, learned how to shoot, learned how to clean the gun, and the safety of a gun. And these guns were never left out in the open ever. We knew as kids the intent of a gun and its power. We target practiced, and hunted, hated it, as i got older, never would go hated it.

However don't tell me i love my guns, owning guns is not a power surge, it is because of protection of my family and not a damn thing more! our home has been broken into, we caught a burgualr looking into our window at another home we lived in. The home we live in was ransacked, things thrown everywhere you can imagine, clothes taken out of drawers, and thrown all over the bed, the closet, things were taken out, and thrown. The criminal in question left little notes, and certain things of porn. Think this is fun to experience, well then you think again.

I and my daughter were so frightened every single time we walked thru the door of the home. The criminal sat on my couch, i know by how i keep things, helped himself to food and drinks in the frig too. That was not a pleasant experience for anyone to experience, it leaves a bad after taste in your mouth.

That experience belittled me, and humilated me, i felt so violated, by a person i don't know, who handled all of my belongings.

I have had two family members murdered, so don't anyone tell me i don't have a right to bear arms, for the protection of my family and home. I don't love my gun, but if i i ever have to use it for protection, knowing how to shoot, oh you better believe that i will, have had two family members murdered, and a home broken into twice.

And do not think that strict gun laws are going to be the problem solver, as long as we have nuts and criminal element in the world we live in, the problem will not go away, and people are going more insane it seems.

Certain people ought to mind the p's and q's thinking that all gun owners are in love with their guns, and have guns for no reason other then power! Bull Crap and Bull Shi-

Some one break into your home, use a damn finger, you can stick it up the criminals butt, see how that works for you. Most criminals today who break into your home will have a gun, and some also knives. Think a stun gun is going to do anything, not a damn thing, i own stun guns too. Good people hard working people have a right to protect their family and their home.

There's also an erotic excitement associated with guns for a lot of people. I don't see anything wrong with that, but it's just something to keep in mind when we ponder the fascination with guns.

Perhaps if some of these people had better sex lives, they might not have such a great need to shoot guns.
