Good. That's one detriment, make them too expensive for your average mass murderer.

But here again for the 1000th time. Nobody is arguing it will take all assault weapons off the street.
But make them incrementally less available.

During the summer of 2012, over 150 black teens were killed by guns in Chicago alone. Why only crickets from congress and the national media...

You would know that some of the cheapest ALREADY start at around $800 and UP then............
Every 15 year old kid can swing that....Same as Leroy in "da hood" who has never has a job in his 45 year old life.

Incrementally less available. So in about 200 years you'll get your wish? An assault rifle free society?
Are you and people like you really that dense?

And even less from Rahm. I guess because they are only killing themselves and it's gang, drug related so they are culling the criminals by their own hand. I'd wager there's some innocent deaths there but most are one criminal killing another over stupid reasons.
And they probably have acknowledged to themselves that the guns were most likely obtained illegally.
Restrictions and bans would do Chicago no good.

It didn't take the jackels long to come out from under their rocks and try to exploit these deaths for political gain. What a disgusting person.

You're average mass murder in this recent incident obtained them illegally, I don't know if you're aware of this as it has been overlooked but Lanza tried to buy guns a few days before he committed this act and was denied.

And by a significant increment, since a) law-abiding people will turn them in anyway, b) improved police intelligence - like tracking IPs of people who boast about their "collection" - will locate many of the numbskulls who would try to hang onto them, and c) the remainder of hardened criminals, survivalists and other nutjobs will at least find it harder to trade them about like baseball cards. Of course it won't eliminate them entirely, but a serious police effort can make a much bigger dent than is generally assumed.
