8,000 deaths last year from intentional gun violence, 300,000 people die of cigarette related disease each year; making them (cigarettes) far more dangerous. How many lives have cigarettes saved this year? There are thousands of crimes thwarted each year by gun toting citizens.

Who do you think you are, Freud of the North? What a load of crap coming from an arrogant Canadian.

Do you even own a gun?

Have you ever experienced the enjoyment of shooting?

What about hunting? Canadians used to be avid hunters. Has that been bred out of you too?

Research shows that the dangers of having a gun at home far outweigh the safety benefits greatly increasing the risk of death and firearm-related violence.

A gun in the home is twelve times more likely to result in the death of a household member or visitor than an intruder.

Guns in homes can increase risk of death and firearm-related violence

FIRST, they were not murdered by assault weapons, so your facts are already confused.

Simple minds believe that banning guns will somehow make these acts of terror disappear, like magic.

Progressives always look to relinquish the rights of the many, based on the acts of a few. This is not how the United States was created to be. E Pluribus Unum: "Out of Many One"

Americans don't give up their Constitutional rights based on the actions of insane people, whether they are murderers, or socialists.

Cigarettes kill the person smoking them. Guns kill others.

Oh good gravy, and I'm 30 times more likely to stub my toe if I run bare footed.

In the overall scheme of things, I'd rather have a gun than a phone when someone breaks in, thanks.

No, others kill others.

I placed my Glock on the table and begged it to kill me... nothing happened.

really? then why all the hype about 2nd, 3rd and 4th hand smoke. guess we can flush all those ideas down the drain now too, right?
guns kill nobody by themselves. it takes thought and action from a human being to have a gun kill anyone.

Let's get real. Cigarettes are not instruments of murder. They are not weapons. You can kill yourself with them, and if you expose someone you live with , especially a child, to a lifetime of second hand smoke then maybe you can kill them too. OK?

I can take a loaded firearm, put it on a table during a party. unless someone takes the action of picking it up and pulling the trigger, it will never shoot a bullet out of the muzzle.
