How did I change the story?
Media blackout: Oregon mall shooter was stopped by an armed citizen - Virginia Beach Conservative | Examiner.com
The civilian SAID he was taking cover behind a pillar.
Quote:
The friend and baby hit the floor. Meli, who has a concealed carry permit, positioned himself behind a pillar.
|
The civilian SAID that the shooters gun jammed.
Quote:
"He was working on his rifle," said Meli. "He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side."

We now know that the assailant's gun had jammed, and when he cleared it, he quickly retreated and shot himself, as Meli continued to keep him in his sights.

The civilian SAID he took cover in a store.
Quote:
Meli took cover inside a nearby store. He never pulled the trigger. He stands by that decision.

The civilian SAID " I THINK that once he saw me..."
There is no way to know from across a mall if someone actually sees you unless they acknowledge you.
Looking in the general direction of someone who is taking cover behind a pillar, does not mean that you see them. There is no way to prove that the shooter actually saw him. Unless the shooter, who was messing with a jammed gun, said "I see you with the gun behind the pillar" OR yelled out "OH crud, that guy has a gun too" There is no mention of any of that happening.
So, AGAIN,how did I change the story?
