Gee do you remember, I do, about 10 days ago the left was tell us, right here, no way would Scott get appointed. They said Haley wouldn't dare appoint a black senator cause the south wouldn't stand for it. Not just one person said it, several did..Now, what are they going to say if JC Watts becomes the leader of the party??
That you pulled a black guy who hasn't held elective office for many years simply because your party wants desperately to show that it's modern and hip.
Tim Scott's popularity in South Carolina is very high and his credentials, given his young age, are quite impressive. He came from a very impoverished background, and by applying himself and making smart decisions, became a successful businessman and ultimately a local politician here in Charleston. He served our community well, as one of the main drivers of the influx of new industry and business to our area, including Boeing. He was elected to the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina, twice, where he has continued to serve as a smart and fiscally sound conservative. I know the people in our state have been very happy with him.
To suggest he can't win the Senate seat because he's black when election time comes up shows a pretty ignorant view of South Carolina and her people. You see, we've told the left all along, it's not about skin color, it's about following conservative principles. Tim Scott embodies conservative principles and thus, has remained a very popular Representative in our state. There is no reason for him to not be equally popular as a Senator.
