Has anyone heard a statement form the NRA? Their twitter account has gone silent and they took down their facebook page. I guess they are on vacation until the countries attention turn back to the fiscal cliff then it's back to convincing people that they exist to make sure every American can protect them self.

They are busy thinking up a caveat to their "Guns don't kill people,..." mantra.

Maybe something like this: "Guns don't kill people, but they sure as hell speed up the process" ?

I like their strategy. If we stay quiet and still no one will notice the elephant in the room.

There will be no additional gun control laws. The majority of the people in this country own and use guns responsibly. Myopic New Yorkers have some sort of innate inability to understand that.

Of course, years ago the tragedies in CT didnt happen...and there were far less gun control laws. Wonder why?

Gun laws keep legal law abiding people from having guns.

Criminals and mental cases are not going to be stopped by a law that says you cant do or have something.

They are already criminals and/or out of their mind. Breaking one more law isnt going to stop them.

The fact that she didnt secure her guns properly is a completely different issue.
Also he never had any criminal background or real documented history so he sort of slipped under the radar as sad as that is.

Are you kidding me. The same NRA that pledged to spend what ever it cost to make sure our current president did not get elected. You mean the same NRA that that sent letters to members of congress up for re-election informing them that if they do not support their position they will back other candidates (If I did that it would be considered extortion and I would be in Jail) You mean the same NRA that throws their weight and money around anytime a politician opposes their way of life.

You're right they don't owe anyone anything. You're right they don't owe anyone not even a word or condolence. You are right an organization that advocates gun ownership does not have to say anything when one of the worst gun incidents happen.
