Anything to back this up? I guess your claim that you know that vast majority of all those people in those cities....seems, well.....ignorant....
Show me a link that prove that the gun ownership rate in such cities is comparable to any southern state such as Alabama or Louisiana
Also, having lived in NYC I assure you that guns aren't as popular as in the "great" southern states .
Most educated people understand that if someone presents you with facts, simply stating that their source is "biased" is not effective counter argument, you have to present facts that refute the claim. Us in "fly-over" country learn this in elementary school, I'm surprised y'all on the coasts who are just so much better educated and know what's best for us don't know the same.

You live in flyover country... condolences
Cincinnati... I have been there once... I have still nightmares about it.
Chicago also has some of the most strict gun laws in the country and yet we see some that it is a very dangerous place to live depending on the neighborhood. California is pretty strict and yet we see high crime.
A law is only as good as its enforcement or how well it is written.
Imagine how many less automobile fatalities would happen if cars were banned? Is it the right thing to do?
The violent crime rate is far higher in urban areas of California and in Illinois than they are the state as whole. The same is generally true throughout the country, where crime rates are highest in urban areas. At the same time, a quick look at the election return maps will show that the vast majority of rural areas are red, while urban ones are blue. From that, it's reasonable to assume that liberals are much more violent and respect human life less than conservatives. Not supprise there.
What I would like to see is a summary of the top 20 voting districts in terms of murder rate, vs voting results.

So, basically, you have nothing to back up your comment....typical...
than it was at the outset of the law, while the U.S. murder rate averaged 11% lower. Coincidence Im sure!
DC was also 70% Black then and awash with crack cocaine. It's now barely 50% Black and not awash in crack cocaine. Multiple variables feed into crime. Pointing to one as the cause is simply silly.

So you're implying that blacks are responsible for violent crime, not guns?
I guess you didn't like the facts on the other thread. You know - the one where I showed you the homicide rate in the USA is one half today what it was 11 years ago. Yet gun ownership is far higher and there are many more concealed handgun licenses than before.
NYC's crime rate drop is impressive. If you studied NYC crime rate history you would know that they have been declining for a long time - beginning when Guiliani was the mayor. But Chicago's murder rate is skyrocketing - all in a city with extreme controls on guns.
Which statistics are more important?
