I absolutely hate these people, but we have free speech in this country, and I don't want any Americans rights taken away. Once we start taking away rights, where do you stop? This is something liberals fail to grasp.

You should remember that Republicans have tried to ban flag burning multiple times, which is considered a form of free speech. Also, all of the Republican candidates for President except for Ron Paul signed a pledge to ban all forms of pornography.
Who loves the Westboro Baptist Church and the Phelps family?
No one. They are the most universally despised group in America.
As such, they bring people together wherever they show up. People who would otherwise never talk to each other, and people who have very differing thoughts about everything but the Phelpses is one way to start up a good discourse on our agreements and differences. And, at the same time, such discussions only work against Fred and his family; they are destroying themselves slowly, one funeral at a time, but are uniting the rest of us in a way no others have done.
The family gets no support from outside. They make their living by suing the folks who have attacked them, and all those suits came from earlier times, when decent folks hadn't figured out ways to peacefully block their hatred.
Attempting to limit their rights only plays into their main income source. Let them be; in time, old Fred will tip over all by himself, and his family will dwindle down to just a handful of no-accounts. As it is now, one of their drivers, falling asleep at the wheel during their long journeys, could wipe out half of them in one accident.

Good point and agreed. There are so many folks out there who do the same thing as the Phelp family: Luring people into their trap by baiting people into lashing out in anger.
Best solution for people like that is to ignore them.
I very much see something wrong with it despite how much I despise this group. You can't go censoring someones right to free speech just because you disagree with their message no matter how disgusting it may be.
