What it doesn't show is a correlation between guns and murders...US has 2.5 times the murder rate yet 15 TIMES the gun ownership and an INFINITELY bigger supply of guns...so the US citizen is SEVEN times MORE RESPONSIBLE with their guns!
Take away our victim zones/cities and that grows exponentially!

I just totally disagree with this fundamental concept that we are all safer if we are all packing guns.
We're pretty close to that now and it doesn't seem to be working.
The crucial fact you fail to consider is that the GUN GENIE is OUT of the BOTTLE and is never going back inside. It's a fact, like hurricanes and earthquakes. Bad people will have them. PERIOD.
The only way to combat this is to allow Good people to have them as well. Not as a requuirement, but as an option.
Just as the suspected presence of an unmarked patrol car keeps folks from speeding, the suspected presence of one or more individuals being able to defend themselves and others will deter criminals.
