Ten years MINIMUM. For a start. Nobody worries about the penalty because it's so light. Put teeth into the penalty.
Well, then you'll have to travel to the Republic of Texas, since any attempt to ban lawful, Constitutional guns will meet with secession.

Ok, thats a discussion I would be willing to entertain, but can you at least admit that you were wrong and didn't knowe what you were taslking about as far as the whole "assault rifles and pistol ammo" goes?
Most guns I am familiar with, have ammo that is different for a pistol than a rifle. I'm certainly no expert.

marlin has two rifles that use pistol rounds, one a 9mm the other a .45acp.
