Well, ten years in prison is the max sentence right now forillegaly possesing a gun, and yet howmany illegal guns are floating around out there right now? 25 years is an even longer term and is the punishment for a lot of murder cases, but yet how many murderers are deterred from doing it in the first place? Hmmm.

Sorry, too many nutjobs have access to weapons of mass slaughter. Things will change.
Well, then you'll have to travel to the Republic of Texas, since any attempt to ban lawful, Constitutional guns will meet with secession.

Serious reform? Ban ammo? Yup, real serious.

Ten years MINIMUM. For a start. Nobody worries about the penalty because it's so light. Put teeth into the penalty.

Secede away, and watch all of your taxes double because Texas is a Federal Parasite State. Hundreds of billions in federal dollars go to Texas. Threats are meaningless.

Ok, thats a discussion I would be willing to entertain, but can you at least admit that you were wrong and didn't knowe what you were taslking about as far as the whole "assault rifles and pistol ammo" goes?
Most guns I am familiar with, have ammo that is different for a pistol than a rifle. I'm certainly no expert.

30 cartridge magazines is the term I have been using. If I mis-posted, apologies.
