Yes kind of unusual, actually pretty astounding that there have been no comments, not surprising based on their leadership choosing to work behind the scenes. Most of the NRA are decent people but are in disagreement with the leaders, whoever they are, I guess it's best to say nothing and hope this blows over.

Not only have they been in hiding from the media, they have removed the newsfeed on their site to avoid having to acknowledge the death of 20 first-graders. Cowards.

That's because they know that they are caught in the awkward position of having to effectively defend a mass murderer, since they defend and support the system that allowed him to do it in the first place.

I would have suspected they'd be out in force right about now and getting as much publicity as possibly for gun rights.

Why would the NRA have to defend the mass murderer? Oh thats right you don't hold the person who committed the crime accountable you blame the tool he used, Well in that case the knive manufactures lobby in china will have to defend the guy that killed 20 kids on the same day in china.

Well let them use their 1st amendment rights for a change rather than 2nd amendment, they are big on constitutional rights or am I mistaken. Seems like they are very selective with their amendments, but always glad to sneak through the back door to some congressman and shower him with money.
