The NRA gets a ton of money under the table from the gun manufacturing companies along with dues from members. Could a lawsuit crush the NRA?

I think that is the solution, go after the NRA in court and get them out of the national debate where the vast majority of Americans want stricter gun controls.

On the stupid thread scale (1 to 10), this one is a 9

Welcome to a stunning example of PSS herd mentality, where if you teach it they will believe.

And I'm sure he thinks it's perfectly sensible.

anyone can bring a law suit agaist anyone else, but would they win? of course not, you know the answer. How about sueing the government for not making all guns illegal which is what many of you would like, to eventually see..? How do you know the Republicans will not return phone calls and NRA is being paid under the table? Lobbying is not all bad, btw. Every time you vote, the person you have voted for probably has some connections with lobbyist.

Being oppossed to something is one thing, posting comments as fact is quite another.

No.

There's nothing connecting the NRA to the crime. Are you people really this stupid?

Thanks for the respectful response. The first one in the thread. But at least this would put the spotlight where it belongs, on the NRA. One of the most evil organizations in this country.

An NRA lawsuit would get nowhere. Advocacy is not illegal.

Bushmaster, on the other hand, will probably settle with the families to avert lawsuits.

If they can't sue gun manufacturers what makes you think they can sue the NRA?

I don't see how they could sue the NRA, and as much as I can't stand their obstructive politics, I would oppose any attack on the freedom of speech, to which they are entitled. If the lawsuits target anyone, they will probably go after the school district for failing to take reasonable precautions and possibly the gun manufacturers for not making safer products. I don't know how far those suits will go, though.

I think the better strategy is to use the voting records of politicians to shame them into distancing themselves away from the political extremism of some of the more radical gun rights activists. The more effective long-term strategy isn't to sue them, but to shame them and isolate them.

Japan has no God in school. Japan has no God anywhere in their society.

And I can assure you, it is infinitely safer, more civic-minded, and less violent than the United States ever was.
