Again, lets not confuse issues here. There are always going to criminals and there's always going to be gun violence. The issue is why assault rifles should be sold to anyone. There's a difference between 2 or 3 people killed because a crazy guy had a handgun vs 26 people killed because he had an assault rifle
He could have gotten just as many or more people using something other than that particular weapon.
Why do people pay this trash-minded Brit any attention whatsoever? Another sensationalist with a populist media agenda here to fatten his contract and the compensation he receives from sounding involved & caring about issues to get more ratings.
We have enough Americans that can do that and don't need imported tabloid artistas from Europe to play outraged mummy for the constantly nasty home viewer.
You could see that Piers wanted to smack that guy. I can't blame him though...that guy is a complete idiot. The solution to stopping gun violence is to give out more guns? Just think about it. Lanza's mom had multiple guns. Did that hurt or help this situation? Also the argument is not to get rid of guns completely (although some people do want that). The argument is that there's absolutely no reason why anyone should have a high powered assault rifle like this. I dare anyone to tell me what they need that gun for other than I just want one. You can easily get by with a handgun that holds 12-15 bullets. There's no reason why you need a military style gun that holds 30 or 100 bullets.
The guy's argument saying it was the mom's stupidity...well do we know yet whether the guns were locked up? Many reports said that she took the boys shooting before. I don't think it's beyond comprehension that she gave the kids the gun safe combination. She probably figured if someone broke in, that the kid should be able to get a gun to protect themselves.
And then the stupidest argument of them all...that the teachers should be able to carry guns. Show me a school where teachers are carrying guns and i'll show you a school where a kid will accidentally or intentionally shoot someone one day.
Israel places armed security at every school. I haven't found one story about a kid getting accidentally shot, and I've found exactly one news story about a school shooting in Israel in the last 30 years. That one was carried out by Palestinian terrorists, and was over pretty quickly. One of the terrorists didn't survive, the other was wounded, irrc. Seems like the plan works much better than the idiotic "gun free" zone that lets psychopaths know where the soft targets are.

Wow, Piers Morgan got owned. Facts didn't support his argument, so he switches to name calling and emotional appeals. That's the real problem we have with gun control. People who support gun control aren't thinking rationally about the issue, they're letting their emotions get the best of them and lashing out irrationally. The argument Morgan made in this video was hilariously bad. I mean, he basically put on a clinic of how not to win an argument. Truly. The man has no class. I'm willing to listen to anyone debate, you might learn something you didn't know, but Morgan had nothing. He should be embarrassed, he looked like a total fool. It is NOT the pro-gun people looking like the idiots in this recent debate. It's impossible to discuss it rationally with some people but this CNN host had a national audience and acted like an immature jerk.
again, you and the gun-nut lobbies are confusing the issue. I don't think we need to ban ALL guns. I do think we need to ban these military assault rifles that keep being used in all these mass shootings. What possible need do you have that requires ownership of that type of gun? Can you not get by with a simple revolver or single shot hunting rifle?
Because the fascists, be they the KKK or the NeoNazis, or corporate fascists, like blackwater Academi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia will always be armed. The time may well come when a militant working class will have to use violence to take down the pigs. Hence, I/we need weapons if the day ever comes when we need to give up on the ballot and go straight to the bullet. By any means necessary MEANS by any means necessary.
