We are not a democracy. We're a rather undemocratic republic. Until 1913, people couldn't even vote for their senator. We don't actually vote for our president. The process for amending the Constitution is not too democratic either. Our founders intended to make us a free country, not a democracy. Democracy always devolves into mob rule. No rights exist in a true democracy. The majority can vote them away.
No, that is just how our founders referred to mob rule.
But, if what you say is true, then the converse holds true, that we have a minority that supports what the majority detests. So, thanks to the minority...

Good point. In 1913, women didn't count as people anyway. Need I go back further to the good old days where the government defined who can be "people"?
For someone who claims to be a historian, you are ignorant as to the differences of a Constitutional republic (which we are) vs a democracy (which we are not)
Good thing we dont live in a democracy, it's called a Constitutional Republic.
I'll give up my AR's when I decide to, not when a bunch of uninformed jackasses think I should.
You're not very good at this are you?
The people tell their elected reps what to do, and then if we put enough fear into them, they actually do it.
This is a tipping point, Gomer.
