----------
A quote from president Thomas Jefferson...

"I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors."
-------

The NRA needs to admit that assault weapons have no place in today's society. The constitution can be modified to adapt to changes in society. Do these nuts really believe that they would stand a chance if the "Govmint comes to take arr gunz!" -- and yeah, do not deny that people do think this way. They think that their guns are the only protection against a total tyranny and government takeover.

The government has drones, tanks, nuclear bombs... Give it up. Your AR-15 has a better chance of killing our kids than saving you from the government. The cons clearly outweigh the pros here.

Liberals are generally prone to surrender and so willing to give up their rights. That's why they're seen as anti-military and anti-defense.

Indeed. There is a clearly defined process for doing it.

And what changes are those? That the government can control every facet of my life?

Change has already been made. And for the worse.

Comments like this always puzzle me. What is so different in your life than mine because in my life with the exception of the weeks prior to April 15th, I don't notice the federal government at all, much less a federal government controlling any facet of my life.

Isnt April 15th the High Holy Day of the government worshipping liberal liturgical calendar?

"modified to adapt to changes in society"

Really ambiguous stuff....

Like, getting tired of a sh*tty government...they rob us, compromise our liberty, force ideals and indoctrinate us....

When people are tired and want to uproot the government...

Can the Constitution be made to "adapt" to THAT "change in society"...

Answer: you better believe it

So you found a quote from Jefferson that makes you believe the constitution is a living document that needs tobe changed regularly! Now read some more of his writings so you understand him better. He was not so inclined to have the goverment control us as much as it does. Also I dont need it changed by knee jerk libs that dont understand anything about guns or control. Yes Im a gun owner. No you cant and wont change the constitution to take away my rights.
