Adding to Nomads note: Let us not forget Senator Dan Inouye of Hawaii, who of course just passed away. I believe he was the last WWII vet to be sitting in the US Congress.

His valor during the war was incredible. Read up on his action in Italy that earned him the Medal of Honor.

Although he lost his right arm, Senator Inouye went on to college and law school, and served his state well for many decades.

Note that he did not sit around on a computer all day making new threads to inflate his feelings of self-importance.

Have you forgotten your history here ?
Why do so many of them complain that so many people don't pay enough in taxes?? In fact, when Romney said that half of the citizens don't pay enough in taxes, this is what you said

Romney is right. There's a good number of people quite content to stay where they are in life getting all their freebies from the government.

Look at Greece, Italy and Spain today because that is where we are headed in the not so distant future.

You know that the Revolution wasn't just about taxes. It kicked off due to an attempt by the British authorities to impose gun control.

The TAX itself wasn't the problem--it was the fact that England could tax the colonies, or do whatever they wanted to them, without representation. The colonists had no say--you know--no taxation without representation?

Have any of you ever picked up a history book? Even once? Just asking...

There are a few WWII veterens left e.g. Frank Lautenberg, and Ralph Hall.

Big, far away government, high taxes?

They'd love it.

Roffle at anyone who falls back to technical definitions to support their BS argument.

Yes, they are often good for a chuckle, aren't they?

No kidding.

The only thing worse is listening to uneducated liberals try and have an educated debate about gun control.

They make all kinds of heinous generalizations. One sleaze actually suggested responsible gun-owners have blood on their hands because one sick, demented individual snapped. I don't know what kind of people start these threads or make such stupid comments, but I'm glad you agree that people who engage in that kind of behavior are pond scum.

Why would liberals fight for job creators like East India Company?
