Btw, I decided to make a "post-apocalyptic & dystopic" book/movie display at the library today... on the sign I almost added "pick up one of these titles on December 22nd!" but decided that was a bit heavy on the sarcasm.

I don't know any. That's probably a good thing, don't know that I could keep a straight face.

I know many people who joke about the day. Primarily college kids like me who will use the day to get drunk.

Things like this happened throughout history. As if the universe recognizes a numerical date assigned by man as a point for destruction.

Especially one where that date is calculated with Earth's position relative to the sun. What about Venus? Mars?

That said, I wouldn't mind.
The world is so whacked that this would be a good time for it to end.
How liberal of you to say that

Nope, not a one.

Not personally, but a 'survivalist' was interviewed on the local news.
The contradiction is funny. How does a 'survivalist' perpare to survive the end of the world??
Isn't the end the end?

I don't know anyone who takes it seriously. Lots of people including myself have joked about it though. Personally I think anyone who thinks they know when the world will end is a nut. Not even Jesus wanted to answer that one.
