Wow. Um, have you spoken to the DEA because they would LOVE your sheer brilliance of just declaring something gone and *poof* it's gone.

And here we've spent billions and billions trying to stop the flow of meth, crack, heroin and whatnot and have failed.

Little did we know that all we had to do was say, "No drugs and this OD victim would still be alive."

I guess we've all been overthinking how the guys committing most of the murders would just evade the ban. It's your incredibly simple thinking that has shown me the light though. We just have to ban something and it can't ever be found again.

Hey, I got it! Let's pass a law banning global warming! That will work too!

bahaha i think this is funny. Its not about guns! its about the person pulling the trigger. If we werent allowed guns who would have them?? Cops(officials) and criminals....is that really what we want??

This kid with a 6 shot revolver could not have killed the same amount of kids in the same amount of time as with an AR-15 with a high capacity clip. Plus kill accuracy with an assault rifle is greater at further distances than kill accuracy with a 6 shot revolver for most of these mass murderers.

Even military trained people know this to be the case. There is a reason why military and police sharp shooters don't use handguns to do those jobs and why a military combatant facing 6 enemy combatants would rather have an AR-15 to face them with than a 6 shot revolver. Trying to act as if both guns are equivalent is a no-sale.

Default I remember

There was a road rage story on the news a few years back that a man followed a person who he felt cut him off and stabbed him with an ice pick. Also heard of a few others where a person was beaten to death by the person using nothing but their fists, also of a bat beating to death, and being run over. Dang, maybe we should ban cars, it seems that people can't handle their emotions behind the wheel, can't stop texting which leads to accidents, and can't stop drunk driving, which leads to more fatalities than shooting. Oh and we absolutely need to ban fast food restaurants AND on top of that these preserved-infested products that are labelled food. People are getting new diseases and illnesses left and right, people are obese, yet the "food" with chemicals and preservatives cost lower than organic and GMO free foods. Why is that? Why is it that an organic tomato costs as much as a meal at McDonalds? Health related illnesses and diseases kill millions upon millions. Just saying

Way to throw in the deflection of what weapons are more deadly. An assault weapon is more deadly to a large group of people than a 6 shot revolver is.

Let's be clear, assault weapons are not deisgned for hunting. And while not ALL assault weapons are automatic, most of them are.

Assault weapon (semi-automatic) refers primarily (but not exclusively) to firearms that possess the cosmetic features of an assault rifle (which are fully-automatic). Actually possessing the operational features, such as 'full-auto', is not required for classification as an assault weapon; merely the possession of cosmetic features is enough to warrant such classification as an assault weapon. Semi-automatic firearms, when fired, automatically extract the spent cartridge casing and load the next cartridge into the chamber, ready to fire again; they do not fire automatically like a machine gun; rather, only one round is fired with each trigger pull.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Huge gap in the deadliness between a "6 shot revolver" and an AR-15. I don't know why he doesn't understand this.

A very narrow minded view. I already posted this above, but I'll repost it for you since you seem to have missed it.

Cars were designed to get people from point A to point B.

Guns were designed to kill.

Assault weapons were designed to kill other people.

Yes, anything can be a weapon, but it'd be pretty hard to run into a school and kill 26 people with your car now wouldn't it?

In the confined space of a classroom, either weapon could have the same result. In the field you are looking at longer range shooting which is more efficient with a rifle... With a speed loader, in a classroom confined space environment, a 6 round revolver would be just as efficient and could have netted the same result. I know what I'm talking about... Do you?? That would be NOPE!!
