Heard a short Mark Levin clip used as a radio promo for his talk show. He blasted the left for destroying cities and destroying job opportunities for teens with high minimum wages.

Clearly there are reasons so many people wanta higher minimum wage. Why don't conservatives address the underlying issues?

The underlying issues are illegal immigrants, effectively open borders, H-1B visas, failed schools and an unskilled workforce, free trade deals with third world nations, the highest marginal corporate tax rates in the industrialized world, regulations that stifle growth and exemptions to those regulations for sale to the highest bidder, near-zero fed funds rates, global warming hysteria, taxes that punish productivity and government programs that reward failure, low information voters, multimillion dollar corporate board seats as a waiting thank you for retiring politicians who screw working people while in office, and the list goes on...

I don't mean to demean the question you asked, but you're asking why people who's political foundation is grounded in callous disregard for others don't exercise concern over something that they feel doesn't affect them. If people don't recognize the obligation inherent in participating in governance being a moral responsibility to care for those less fortunate than themselves, then asking them why they just whine and cry instead of proposing alternatives is a bit missing-the-point.

I'm not a conservative, but since min wage laws = compulsory unemployment, they should be abolished.
When the min wage is $15.00 every job at $14.99 and less has just been outlawed.

Yeah, because before we had a minimum wage law we had people just swimming in money. I think what buu said is exactly right those against a higher minimum wage are just being selfish greedy small minded people.

I never said "people were swimming in money", but they did have jobs and an oppurtunity to better themselves.
You keep believing that sawing off the bottom rungs of the ladder makes it easier to climb up.

I don't know about you but I certainly can say I wouldn't want to have a job that pays only $2.50 an hour for back breaking work. And don't kid yourself a majority of companies would be happy enough to exploit their workers just to enrich themselves.
And by the way you need to read up on your history to see how great the opportunities were back then.

Are you saying without a min. wage law you would be working in a quarry for $2.50 an hour?
