Shocking! The firearms industry getting behind an idea that would sell tens of thousands of guns. And no we didn`t try it the anti-gun way.Not even close.
What would that be, ban all guns then start?
Nope.... Step aside your time is done. You have failed 70 times..
It's our way now.
Just think your taxes will buy teachers guns.. You like taxes right?
Oh, but, from the OP, """The program will begin by accepting 24 teachers. All expenses, including class tuition, ammunition, and lodging (which are expected to total approximately $1,000 per teacher), will be paid by Buckeye Firearms Foundation and outside donations"""
So there's no ulterior motive at all
BUT they've got 24 , count 'em TWENTY FOUR, teachers covered...WOW! Will that go a long way....how many teachers are in the US????
AND when donations drop off , as they will, WHO picks up the tab.
Not one "Teachers Should Be Gun Toters" advocates has said how NO taxes will go towards this OR how much more the "Union Thug" teachers will be paid and WHO will pay that.....
But they're oh so brave....
Just wait til the Universal Service and Training Act is ratified. All males and all females aged 18 to 42 will server 2 years training.
This was a little something Bill Clinton had drawn up just special too.

When I was in grammar school the biggest threat we faced was those commie Russians launching nukes at us. A threat easily negated by learning how to crawl under our desks.
How is feeling the need to arm teachers 'progress'?
Precisely, except when it involves international or interstate commerce. The Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1990 was held to be unconstitutional for that reason, but the revised Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1995 is still in effect. Which makes it a violation of federal law to bring a firearm into a school.
Do you honestly think this is meaningful, does this have any effect on any of these murders. The NRA's point of view that this pointed out that schools were unarmed is blatantly absurd, I am sure it deters some gun owners but when we are speaking to metally insane felons, I don't think they much care about federal or state regulations.
'Armed Teachers Pilot Program' To Offer Free 'Firearm' Training To Educators (Now That's Progress)
Who will be armed at shopping malls, movie theaters, spas, parking lots, hospitals, churches, community centers, nursing homes, sporting events, recreational facilities, hotels, etc, etc....................?
And who will pay for it?....Republican tax payers...paying for bigger government
insanity was having schools gun free as mandated by the feds and saying they were safer that way. the feds are the ones that made schools into murderzones, and the feds should also be held responsible for those crimes as well as the criminal that did the crime.

I don't see how the Interstate Commerce Clause has anything to do with gun free zones. Do you?
Schools are a local issue and the fed should stay out of it.
Unfortunately ever since FDR the fed has used the ICC to do federalize justify anything they want to do, taking rights away from the states in the process.
Beside if a law is passed another law can void the first or amend it.
Schools are a State issue, as you say, and I agree the feds should stay out. The Supreme Court also agreed and told the feds to stay out in United States v. Lopez, 514 US 549 (1995). However, Congress enacted the Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1995 which included the phrase:
"It shall be unlawful for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm that has moved in or that otherwise affects interstate or foreign commerce at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone."
Since all firearms, except those that are home-made by hobbyists, have moved in or otherwise affected interstate or foreign commerce, they are banned from school zones. The Supreme Court has not ruled on the "new and improved" Gun-Free School Zone Act of 1995. Until they do, it is a violation of federal law to possess a firearm in a school zone, unless you are law enforcement officer in the performance of their duty (not even off-duty COPs are exempted under this law).
