It should be interesting to hear what they say in regards to the recent tragedy a well as the increase membership & gun buying going on.

I agree. If I had to guess, i'd say that they'll support a ban on high capacity magazines as a token gesture. I'd say that they'll promote background checks at gun shows (although this is a state issue), and i'd say that they'll promote some level of prohibition of guns for people with mental health problems.

I don't see the NRA agreeing to support any type of weapons ban.

I agree I don't think they would ban any gun.

It would be more checks & safety measures.

So we agree on all of it? That's a first! I think this deserves a moment of silence, lol. I've been called a raving liberal for the last two days for saying basically the same thing. How funny.

Universal background checks are huge (the devil is in the details on how they screen and what they screen for), as is better screening for the mentally ill, and people with a history of any kind of assault, abuse or domestic violence. The whole business of building your own gun or modifying one is beyond me, but I think something needs to be done to work with the manufacturers so people can't modify guns or magazines themselves to get around the restrictions if they ban high cap mags. When a semi automatic weapon has a high capacity magazine, it's not much different than a machine gun, which is already tightly regulated. This type of legislation isn't going to stop crime related gun violence, but it should make a dent in the mass killings that we're seeing.

They have compromised in the past, which why I am no longer an NRA member.
The NRA isnt the final say when it comes to the individual rights of gun owners.

They should offer a 10% coupon for any members who purchase a weapon on the banned list prior to it's implementation. lol

Oh, my God, he's going to suggest armed security in all the schools! More fear mongering. But I do agree with what he's saying about violent video games and movies. He's right on with that in my opinion.

LaPierre is too gutless to answer questions afterwards, he will retreat and answer questions "at a later date"

What a nutless coward.
