nothing about clip size or assault weapons. all they want is more and more and more and more guns.
There's nothing to give. The right of the people shall not be infringed is what it says. It doesn't say it shall only be infringed a little bit. It says shall not be infringed.
So you're ok with the elimination of all laws related to guns and weapons? All weapons of war should be fully available to the civilian populace? Convicts, mentally unstable, children should all freely be able to walk in and buy shoulder fired rocket launchers?
I'll give up high capacity magazines. While I hope that there's never a mass shooting again, I know that a competent shooter will not be deterred by fewer rounds in one magazine. It literally takes less than 3 seconds to discharge, re-insert, and rechamber a round. If banning high capacity magazines are the token gesture that makes anti-gunners happy, then so be it. It won't stop or prevent anything, though.
Assault weapons is a vague term that is used to inspire fear in anti-gun nuts. It inspires scary images of fully-automatic machine guns with belt-fed magazines. Clip size is irrelevant, as if it takes much time to reload when there is no armed or threatening opposition.
This is about our 2nd amendment rights being threatened, because it won't end. Ban semi-automatic rifles and shotguns and someone will go on a shooting rampage with handguns instead. Then the calls for banning handguns will start to pour in. At what point do we draw the line? At what point will anti-gun proponents be satisfied? When we're back to using 6 shot revolvers? When there are no guns available to the public at all?

Arizona shooter got off 30 rounds in 30 seconds and was then tackled during a magazine change. So I'd say magazine size is entirely relevant as the difference between 10 round being fired and 30 could have certainly saved some lives.
