But it's the politicians who have allowed this type of environment to take root. I agree with you that the NRA are essentially terrorists, but they don't directly make laws. The politicians do that.

The NRA has no legal ability to pass legislation.

Your problem lies with the criteria you use to select your legislative represntatives.
If you are saying your represntatives in Washington are swayed by cash donations, don't you think you need to address that issue?

very American of you to call for the disbanding of a group you do not agree with you
The sole purpose of the NRA is not to lobby for the 2nd amendment. It is to lobby to protect the profits of gun and ammunition manufacturers---no matter what the costs, no matter how many deaths this causes.

Those who wish to disband the NRA have even less respect for the 1st Amendment then they do for the 2nd.

The NRA represents the worst in fanatical single issue ideologically extreme special interest groups. They thrive by promoting fear and paranoia. Every massacre of children increases gun sales for their donors. Today at conference, they were distracting public from talking about gun laws by blaming massacre on Hollywood, video games and instead talked about hiring more armed security guards on tax payer's money. An ideal business opportunity to boost more gun sales for their donors! The same right wing propagandizers discourage from talking about stricter gun control, funding mental health programs and ignore bullying that goes in schools and colleges that really do contribute to violence a lot more than movies.

They took down the KKK and back in the day they were a very powerful force in this country. They can do the same thing to the NRA.

Oh, they could do far worse than that. Wayne might have to leave the country. Move to Somalia or some other paradise of absolute gun freedom.
