So no one can say why armed guards in schools will work now, but didn't work during the Columbine shootings?
Because it HAS worked in other situations in other schools, no reason to believe it won't work in the future. Nothing is a 100% guarantee, people still die in cars in spite of seatbelts and airbags but you don't argue to have them removed, do you. Children still die from taking pills in spite of child proof caps on bottles, should those be removed too?
The old "the President has armed guards" card. It's been played like the Ace of Spades around here lately.
One reason that's necessary is because a Marine named Lee Harvey Oswald shot and murdered a President in 1963.
The president had armed guards long before that. Abe Lincoln formed the Secret Service, ironically on the day he was assassinated. They started protecting the president in 1901 after McKinley was assassinated.
The president doesn't ride around in a convertible because of Oswald.
See a pattern here? When presidents were at risk, and being killed, they improved security around them. For some bizarre reason the left is much more interested in taking from honest people than improving security for children.
But really, let's just be honest with ourselves. I mean, some of the killings happened in the cafeteria, where a teacher presumably was not present.
The only solution to this is to arm all the students. Give each one of them an M16 upon entry to the school, and a belt of ammo. Couple grenades, maybe a rocket launcher.
Really, it's the only way to prevent these tragedies.
People like you are why no one is willing to even talk about compromise. You're irrational and it's clear your true goal is a complete ban of firearms and any step is just the first towards that end.
