No. In fact I haven't actually heard much from Obama beyond saying something needs to be done to help prevent unnecessary tragedy and that we need to look close at our current gun laws. We do, we always need to be looking close at all our laws. We all agree with that, it's just that everyone is assuming he means whatever it is they fear most. In this case it's the "Obamas gunna take our guns away" fear. I don't even know where the hell that came from, I never heard him say any such thing.

No. He said it's a complex problem that demands many approaches and that a strategy must address school safety, mental illness, and a culture that too often often glorifies guns and violence. Once a plan is developed, Obama said, "I will do everything in my power as presidentto advance these efforts."
