The Jews of Europe did. That's irrelevant, however, as we're talking about America.
Oh yes, and "America is the world"
Race in this country is like the Metric system: everyone else is wrong and we're right.
Slowly, however, America is becoming more in step with the rest of the world. More and more young people are refusing to accept the racist "one drop" rule and are embracing all of themselves, and more and more mixed people are born every year: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/30/us...anted=all&_r=0
So we mixed people have our own "white guilt" experience...do blacks have that? Just one more thing that we experience that blacks generally do not.
So, people can argue all they want, but the tide has turned. Blacks who think of people like Halle Berry as heroes are like the WASP of the 1800s when the Irish were moving in: fighting a battle they can't win. That Multiracial Blog: Halle Berry and the "one drop theory"
Pretty soon the whole "one drop" thing will be seen as a throwback to archaic days and only old people will be using it, so this whole conversation is irrelevant.
