Thank you Russia for preventing Washington from handing these out to the rebels to use against Syrian civilians and blame their own gov't. Finally a grownup takes control.

debkafile’s Moscow sources add: Russia’s military intervention in the Syrian civil war achieved four objectives:
1. The prevention of Western or Israel military action for seizing control of Syria’s chemical and biological weapons arsenals;
2. The prevention of Western military intervention in the civil war behind the forces dedicated to the removal of Bashar Assad. The Russian military is now engaged in the dual mission of guarding his WMD arsenal and his regime;
3. The Russian military presence in Syria delivers a heavy swipe to the rebels;
4. Russia’s intervention and military presence have laid the groundwork for Moscow and Washington to work out an accord that will bring Syria’s civil war to an end.

Putin knew the game from the start. For the US govt, 'terrorists' can become 'rebels' with the swift jargon of what passes for American foreign policy. The US has supported all these Islamist govts since the farcical Arab Spring, and still unbelievably proclaims they're spreading democracy in the ME.
The US will continue zoning in on Iran at the behest of her Israeli masters.
No one in the US is under the illusion that a new regime in Syria would mean one friendly to the US.
Nor did anyone forget that Russia and Syria are strong allies, despite Russia's protests to the negative on RT...
We don't care if they're a democracy or not, we just won't have them holding any illusions that they are sovereign and independent. They exist because we give them permission to exist, until we change our minds.

If the reporting is true I'd assume the Obama admin is happier with the chem stocks in Russias hands rather than the Syrians....
We have no intent to intervent in force in Syria.
