Wow... finally someone trustworthy and objective from the middle who calls out Fox News as "ideological" news out for profit. The best part of this video comes at the VERY END where Ted calls out Bill O'Reilly as a businessman and not a journalist. When Bill O'Reilly foolishly agrees and claims that he's doing something "noble", watch how Koppel responds. Hilarious! LOL!

Ted Koppel: “Fox News is Bad for America” | The Big Picture

Is he actually naive enough to believe any news is not ideological? Does he really require the sensionalized tabloid style of FOX to spell in out to him?

Senility is the only explanation.

Believe it or not, not all news takes a political side to push an agenda. If that's what you really believe, then you need to branch out and seek news sources other than your own.

I'm sure Koppel woud be just fine with America listening exclusively to Koppel and his co-ideologues.

It is. This is pretty much the consensus of the majority of Americans, and most of the world.

But cue the Fox News devotees in 3...2...1... they just don't see it that way. They are the shining rational ones in a sea of ignorance, you know. Everyone is out of step except for them!

As long as people are involved at any level of production of 'news', it will be biased. It is demonstrably impossible for it not to be. Humans are emotional and subjective creatures.
Some are more subtle, some less so.

I think Koppels main gripe with Fox news is it's dumbed down tabloid style which has influenced almost every network.

I can see why this is personal. Look what happened to his show, Nightline.

I remember when I was a kid it was a hard hitting news program, now it's a glitzy shallow tabloid show. I can't say I blame him, Nightline was his baby and now it looks like Inside Edition.
