Then no one would have been killed by using one....? Perp has assault of a peace officer added to his rap sheet....? Female cop present would get to use her mace and boots......? Perp would need transporting to emerge for treatment of contusions and major bruising.......? Defense lawyer gets to charge more for defending a dolt who seems intent on going to jail.....?

This is the type of thing that cops have to deal with; getting too close to a "suspect" while processing him/her and losing control of your own hand gun.

Almost makes one pine for the days of the billy club or sap being used on ALL "suspects" to verify compliance before attempting to "process" them.

These occurrances are going to happen and sooner or later the technology that exists to inhibit a firearm's function unless it "recognizes" the holder will be mandated; costs notwithstanding.

wow. This is getting beyond belief. Did the shooter have a motive or was he just another nut . Who knows what the solution is these days.

If anti-gun folks do not see the benefit of gun at this case, I don't know what else can change their mind.

Case A: Police Station - People with guns
3 injured by gunman
Gunman was killed

Case B: Sandy Hook Elementary - People with no gun
26 killed
Gunman shot himself.

Which one do you prefer?

The shooter disarmed a cop and began shooting the cops gun.... Cops are very lax about their own guns. Their situational awareness sucks.
Most cops are not hobby shooters either, the gun is just a part of the bad boy uniform.

Most cops shoot 2 times a year to qualify The test is hitting a barn they get locked inside of.

Beating a team of cops in a turkey shoot is easy. The last time I saw cops shoot, it was at a moose with a broken back and the cops missed standing next to the moose shooting 9 times

Most cops should be given 1 bullet to keep in the their shirt pocket...

Nothing surprises me anymore...

Why can't cops shoot? Because they were raised in Liberal USA, where it is taboo to shoot. They were all raised by 2 mothers who never shot.

they're not even close to equivalent events. If anything this makes a case for the officers disarming themselves when they enter the station to avoid having a violent offender like this one grabbing their gun while they are processing him, which is what happened in this case. The officers were idiots.

No guns??? Well with no guns there would be no female cops for sure..

Of course if there were no guns there would be no can openers, cars, strollers, steam engines, airplanes, trains and etc etc, since even a lowly machinist can create parts to build a gun any time he wants. Just because you can't, doesn't mean everyone else can't

domestic violence incident arrest, and only one officer was actually shot. (and expected to recover)

the shooter is the only fatality.

yes, i see according to the article he had a history of domestic violence too. I feel bad for the cops who were injured. This news story is believable.

a story with a kid taking out over 20 kids and teachers, is not believable to me. Especially if no one sees the bodies.

That will be a easy work around... No one can ban simple mechanics. Well I guess you can on paper...
