The acid test for gun legislation needs to be a sit down with gang leaders to evaluate how they will behave differently based on passage of any new firearm legislation. You guys claimed that easing gun laws would reduce crime. Chicago has eased gun laws, yet crime has gone up.
Opening a firing range is not the same as owning a gun. You guys are admitting that relaxing gun laws alone will not reduce crime
Even if they allowed conceal carry it will not protect a person from a drive-by shooting. The problem is crime, not law abiding citizens owning handguns. Until the Chicago law enforcement can control gangs, drug trade and reduce crime, allowing citizens to own a gun inside their home will not reduce the murder rates.
Owning a gun for home defense might reduce home robberies and rapes within people's homes, but it will not protect them when they are on the streets of Chicago, in the mall, or when pumping gas into their car.
