Opening a firing range is not the same as owning a gun. You guys are admitting that relaxing gun laws alone will not reduce crime

And now you've proven SourD correct. You don't actually read the posts.

Toss NJ into that mix with Chicago.

Statistics had been a murder a month in Newark for over 40 years but that stat has been surpassed as it seems a murder a week is the new standard.

You need a fingerprint check and release of medical records and months to get a id card to buy a long gun. Same process has to be duplicated to get a permit to buy a pistol.

Graves act requires mandatory 3 years for crimes committed with firearms.

Yet somehow the criminals have decided to ignore the gun laws and crae less about the legal consequences of breaking the law.

The laws and punishments are written for law abiding citizens at a time when crime was scarce. The same rules have no imapct in this day and age when crime as in the weekend death tolls in Chicago don't even make national headlines.

The acid test for gun legislation needs to be a sit down with gang leaders to evaluate how they will behave differently based on passage of any new firearm legislation. The guy who just shot the firemen had beat someone to death years before and had just gotten out of prison. Like the raich paying the largest percentage of taxes the few criminals commit most of the crime. So who exactlt is any new gun legislation impacting?

The most polite setting on earth is a gun show where everyone assumes everyone else is 'carrying'.

It would all make sense to you if you had reading, comprehension, analytical and critiucal thinking skills in place of kool aid slurping, partisan talking points. Try hard now!

You guys claimed that easing gun laws would reduce crime. Chicago has eased gun laws, yet crime has gone up.

Even if they allowed conceal carry it will not protect a person from a drive-by shooting. The problem is crime, not law abiding citizens owning handguns. Until the Chicago law enforcement can control gangs, drug trade and reduce crime, allowing citizens to own a gun inside their home will not reduce the murder rates.

Owning a gun for home defense might reduce home robberies and rapes within people's homes, but it will not protect them when they are on the streets of Chicago, in the mall, or when pumping gas into their car.

Are you sure?? It's now legal to own a hand gun in Chicago, before it wasn't. You don't call that easing of gun laws?? What do you call it, gun confiscation?

Owning a gun allows people to protect themselves in their homes. Chicago laws make it illegal to remove a gun from your home.

You can say that again. After their wave of wailings after the Conn shooting they are left with the same nonsensical arguments screaming assault weapons and automatic this and that and not even knowing what they are talking about.
