If you don't mind paying taxes, go for it! Take your paycheck, deduct food, housing, car payment, insurance, and send the Federal Government everything that's left over. I mean, if you like paying a "little more", you'll LOVE paying a "a lot more" right?

LOL. Not quite. I think that I should pay my "fair share", not more than everybody else. Our currect tax system picks too many winners and losers. I hope that they revamp this tax system to "spread the wealth around". I'm tired of paying for everyone else.

Whe you compare taxes on income most seem to forget the infaltion figure. 250K when clinton was president is equal to about 375 K in todays dollars. If this isn't the case the we should just adopt the 2007 budget spending and it will solve the deficit over time if keep to that level.

Oh. I thought you WANTED to pay more. I think "my fair share" is a lot less than what I'm paying now. Why can't I just remove a few digits from my check to the IRS?

Default Long Term Capital Gains Tax Rates

1942-67: 25 percent
1976: 39.9 percent
1979: 28 percent
1982: 20 percent
1987: 28 percent
1997: 20 percent
2003: 15 percent

Seems people used to be willing to pay for wars and dig out from under increased depression/recession deficit spending by paying more taxes. Now we seem to blame.

Correct, and they even were willing to send their OWN kids to war to fight for their country. They put their own skin in the game..with pride.

But they were the Greatest Generation, and we are the Weakest Generation, by far.

Where do you intend to live that has no tax?
The weather is great in the Caymans, this time of year. They do not impose an income tax. Import duty tax on everything will hurt. The tax on a car can double the price.

Local taxes, for schools, roads, fire, police are very different from Federal taxes. The only Federal tax we really need is for defense.
