Then why did Hillary hire Al Queda to take out Momar in Libya? I guess they didn't really support it just backed and paid for it and used NATO airstrikes to pave the way.
No. Whether you like it or not, the U.S. was established on Christian beliefs. I would argue that even most American Athiests believe in the same principles of love and forgiveness that Jesus taught. They/you have been "Christianized." Islam only considers Jesus a prophet and emphasizes "the law" over love. Very few Americans believe the "law" is God. As bad as many Christian leaders are and have been, they still tend to share the same "general values" as most U.S. citizens.
To clarify my vote, I would not vote for a president who practices conservative/strict/fundamentalist islam any more than I would vote for a fundamentalist christian president.
The No Religious Test Clause of the United States Constitution is found in Article VI, paragraph 3, and states that:
"The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

That is opinion, not fact, the point of the constitution was to seperate church and state, they had seen enough religious persecution and felt it important that specific religious references be eliminated.
I would vote for the best candidate. I'd rather not know what their professed beliefs are, as they are usually just a pretense anyway.
