Let me get this straight. You support the practice of deliberately creating orphaned and fatherless children for profit, and then you ask "what happened to common sense in this country?"??? Good question, Einstein. You definitely won't find it in the mirror.
What if the people taking the child is a straight couple, thus raising a child with a mother and a father.
I've been wondering the same thing about Western since I made the mistake of opening this thread. Stupid me.
Sperm donors sign away their parental rights to any children that might be produced from their sperm being used. I would bet that the recipients of said donor's sperm have to sign similar documentation from seeking out the sperm donor for any support - monetary or otherwise. And vice-versa. I'm sure no parents want the sperm donor claiming parental rights if he suddenly discovers the product of his sperm donation is the child of billionaires.
Every sperm is sacred. Every sperm is great. If a sperm is wasted, God gets quite irate.
"Child: Let the heathen spill theirs
On the dusty g
round,
God shall make them pay for
Each sperm that can't be found.
Children: Every sperm is wanted,
Every sperm is good,
Every sperm is needed,
In your neighborhood."
They could have just done what friend did, blame it on a drunken one night stand...in this case add a turkey baster. Claim his name was "Bob something or other", and there ya go
This is an encouraging story. Sperm donors should absolutely be made to pay child support. Why is that even controversial? Maybe that will put an end to this madness.
Idiotic idea. The sperm donor agreed to donate to help couples that are unable to conceive (due to a sterile man), or women that want to do so without a husband or boyfriend in the mix. The "receiver" made the decision to become a parent, not the sperm donor. If they are too useless as humans to accept the responsibilities of parents, it's not the donors fault. This really should limit the options for lesbian couples that want a child.
So, does this same concept apply to women who are surrogates? They bear more responsibility than a donor, in that they actually raise a fetus to term. How about egg donors? Lets take it further, how about mothers that give up a child for adoption? Are they responsible for the support of a child when the "parent(s)" decide that they don't want to make it on their own?
Lets take it a step further...does a blood donor accept fiscal responsibility for the person that receives his blood, should (s)he become financially challenged? Seems foolish, but how is it any different?
