I don't care how you put it, this is trouble for a lot of folks who work at the pentagon. Personally I don't like this idea. You have 30 million that receive a welfare check and do nothing in the way of contributing anything to society. If any cuts are to be made it should be the free loaders that get cut first.

It's a different pot of money. The mandatory military cuts have to come from somewhere. I have neighbors that are going to get stung by this.

PS - shouldn't they have already gotten this notice per the WARN Act?

You wanted spending cuts, and deficit reductions... you will be getting it. Or, I hope you would be.

There's the FEAR story for sure. We need more "mass firings" reports today from the other government agencies.

FEAR, got to put FEAR in the hearts of Americans that the government is going to shut down and never open up again for business unless the Republicans do what the Democrats want.

And it has to be done today.

Here is the biggest problem............

"The Pentagon also is considering reductions in flying hours for pilots, cutbacks in training-exercise days for the Navy, and reduced maintenance and repair for planes, ships, tanks and other military hardware, according to administration officials."

That can never happen. Now I have no problem with cutting back on future weapons programs and the like and culling the herd of pencil pushers making 80K a year doing nothing all day long and there are plenty of em. Why doesn't somebody cut the state department budget while we're at it and stop handing piles of money to other countries and fix our military hardware instead? Anybody calling for this? Put Dave in as president. He'll get er done.

It may happen. I may be out of a job this week, but you know what . . . if that is what is needed to get this ship back on course - so be it. It will suck big time, but all I need is my guitars and my motorcycle . . . and my amplifiers. That is all I need. And this lamp . . .

Didn't these seniors demand deficit reductions via spending cuts? Let us hope they get what they demanded.
