Listening to Obama now, one could have never guessed that these are the same "Bush's tax cuts," against which he had vigorously campaigned in the past -- just like one could have never learned from his previous speeches that the reviled "tax cuts for the rich" had been saving middle-class families as much as $2,200 a year.

A republican tax saving bill that helped the middle class. A tax cut that the republicans wanted to make permanent but democrats voted against permanence.

Funny how he voted against the bush tax cuts that helped the middle class in the past but now is using saying he wants to keep the bush tax cuts for the middle class.

Simply put, Obama first discredits his predecessor's idea, then steals it, bundles it with a job-killing tax hike, and rebrands it as his own benevolent gift to the low information masses.

And the Obama game goes on.

Yup. Sad but true.

Though I am glad the tax cuts stay. I don't see the economy as being as healthy as obummer claims and think that takin that money away from the middle class might start us down an inflationary spiral that could kill any growth in the economy. The 2% increase is enough right now.

Unfortunately, I'm not happy with the lack of spending cuts in this bill. They're really fixed nothing.

Huh? He negotiated with the GOP to raise the taxes of those making over $400K per year. The Estate taxes of the wealthy are also going up. Why would someone think he's flip flopped? Their taxes are going up. He campaigned against tax cuts for the rich and now they are going up? What's your problem?

Income taxes for those making less than $400K are not going up.

If you are referring to payroll taxes. That was done independently of the Bush tax cuts, several years ago as a temporary stimulus.

Those should be ending. Good! We need to pay our bills.

I swear right wingers are such deabeats!

These right wing idiots also think that cutting spending during the middle of an economic slump doesn't hurt jobs? ...LOL

Here is the non-partisan CBO telling these right wing cry babies that tax hikes on the wealthy will not hurt job growth

Cutting government fat doesn't impact the private sector. It impacts those getting fat. You cannot tell me there is nowhere the government can trim the fat. Hitting the private sector with new taxes, does impact the private sector. You are mixing arguments here.

Out of curiosity, how long do you think we can go on spending like this before it bites us in the butt?

And he shut down drilling where he could, then took credit for increased drilling on private land.

He made national speeches that the individual mandate was not a tax, then sent his lawyers to the court to defend the mandate on the grounds that it was a tax.

He campaigned that he was for DOMA in 2008 then campaigned that he was against DOMA for 2012.

He made speeches that he was against outsourcing, then placed the CEO of a company that outsourced over half its jobs on his council for jobs.

He publicly called Bush unpatriotic for raising the debt ceiling, then fought tooth and nail to raise the debt ceiling.

He told the Catholic bishops that if they would support Obamacare he would not interfere with their stance on birth control or abortion, then once it passed he forced Catholic hospitals and schools to provide birth control.

He blasted Republicans for being obstructionist against his policies, but supported Democrats fleeing Wisconsin to block a vote.

He made a speech about needing civil discourse in politics, then called Republicans "enemies" and had an opening speaker for one of his speeches say "let's take this SOBs out!"

He publicly spoke against the Patriot Act as a Senator, then extended it as President.

He claimed he'd never heard Reverend Wright speak against white people, but quoted him speaking against white people in his own autobiography.

He repeatedly held up Warren Buffett as wanting higher taxes, while Buffett's company was being sued for nonpayment of taxes.

He said he supports the 2nd amendment, then called for gun restrictions.

He announced his first political campaign in Ayers' house and served on boards with him, then said that Ayers was just some guy in the neighborhood.

He railed against Super Pacs, then had his campaign financed by one.

It goes on and on and on. But the liberals on here are constantly saying what a great President he is. Even if I was liberal I wouldn't like Obama. Just as I am a conservative, but admit that Bush was not a good President.
