But how did we get on the topic of HIV/AIDs, anyway? This thread is about gay MARRIAGE, and one would think anyone who's concerned about promiscuity and/or STDs would applaud their desire to commit.

I have a Master's Degree, thanks, so I'm quite capable of doing that math... but I also know "gays" include lesbians, and non-heterosexuals (especially if you count bisexuals) likely make up more than 5% of the population. Unless you can find some empirical data on that, this is kind of a moot point anyway.
Besides, aren't you the one who said "homosexuality is taboo in many countries?" Kinda skews that 95% figure, since you yourself suggested some of those "straight" people are really not.

If it is a taboo, they will simply not have sex with individuals of the same sex, even if there is attraction. So in terms of sexual behaviors, they are the same as straights. (Psychology may be different, of course, but it is irrelevant here).
As I said in the US we are not as extreme as those countries but too much random sex is till not considered good.
"Too much random sex" is a very subjective concept, but again, not being a virgin =/= tons of random sex. Most unmarried adults are capable of having healthy sexual relations, without sleeping with anything that offers. Trust me.
