Okay, I'll give you that one. You're right this time.

They can if they want to...claiming cuts of $500 billion in waste and fraud without actually finding and eliminating that waste and fraud doesn't do medicare recipients any good.

Regan's econmic policy relied on heavy government spending, but he ended up tripling the national debt. He got something right though, because he identified and eliminated loop holes which had accumulated over the decades. From what I heard last night, the current plan also targets waste in Medicare and loopholes.

I hope that's not true. That $500 billion cut in medicare was done under Obamacare and once they find it (waste and fraud and loopholes) will go to pay for Obamacare for those that cannot pay premiums.

How many times can you find $500 billion in waste and fraud in the same program ?

I didn't hear anything about $500B, but they said they will indentify and eliminate waste and loopholes. The "loopholes" was not in reference to Medicare, but to all tax loopholes. Of course they will argue and bicker over the details until the last minute, and then come up with some kind of compromise.

These types of individuals, one can assume they make less than $35,350, already have a lower taxable income percentage than the $50,000 to $250,000 crowd.

Tax Brackets (Federal Income Tax Rates) 2000 through 2013

0-8700 = 10%
8700-35350 = 15%

Anyone above at least $35350 pays 25% or more on taxable income.

Yes, no matter how one describes it ... it appears that we will pay more in 2013 than we did in 2012. So, those of us in the affected category ... will have less to spend on other things. This is a Social Security tax, however, not a general revenue-destined tax/increase. I suspect the Congress might act affirmatively to retroactively return the rate to what was charged/paid in 2012. I think there are other fee/tax increases which went into effect yesterday. Add to the federal tax situation, many states will charge more for things as well.

Your point?
Temporary is temporary; you know, not permanent.

To you republicans crying about having to pay your share. My advice? Bootstraps-pull. Quit blaming your problems on others. You should have been banking your Bush tax cuts all along.
