No, he just grows it (unless you are one of his buddies).

The 10 year projected deficit just went up 4trillion with this deal.

Congratulations on your definition of "responsibility".

Anyone voting in favor of this turd needs to be voted out of office.

True, both parties wanted to keep taxes as low as possible, and there did not seem to be any honest desire from either party to cut spending either. The estimate is that with this deal, the national debt will rise 4 trillion in the next 10 years.

Of course, there is no evidence of this. Government revenue as a p% of GDP is at a near 50 year low. In times of high revenue, such as the 1990s, spending dropped. We have higher spending now only due to necessary spending due to the economy.

Nice deflection. Nobody is saying retirees who worked hard and saved for retirement are leeches.

So you are saying that 47% of all adults are either former hard working retirees who saved for retirement or hard working people trying to live within their means but who just don't make much money?

Nice fairy tale. You need to go out to the real world and see the millions who are real leeches.

But like a typical Dem, you don't want to know the facts.

Really..what did they fund with this "temporary" tax holiday that they are not ending ?
Congress should not have used that temporary money to fund something; it should have been used to pay down the debt.

Government spending has grown from 7% of GDP to over 40% in the past century. Government spending is growing at all levels and across almost every function.

But why do I bother? The right-wing isn't persuaded by facts and evidence. They just want to believe what they want to believe. So go on believing that America is loaded with leeches that just want to depend upon handouts for their living.
I agree that calling people leeches is often unfair, especially people collecting fairly earned benefits like SS.

I would have you know though that we are now facing a debt rating downgrade and eventually as our deficits grow there will come a reckoning. The hardest hit in those situations are ALWAYS the elderly.

This bill is nothing more than kicking the can down the road again.

They freaking ADDED more loopholes for the rich....but you guys just keep putting lipstick on this pig.

The idea is that giving working people more money in their pockets is stimulative and raises demand and consumption and thus lifts the economy. The fixation with debts during an economic slump is misplaced. Grow the economy and debts will take care of themselves.
