Chavez is far from the worst despot Venezuela has had. Check their history and you'll find a real horror show a time or two in the country's past.

He was elected fair and square. South American democracies are not like ours, and Venezuela has always been a fractious democracy.

Chavez is the perfect example for the concept of 'term limits'

Aside from that - Cancer is a terrible disease and just like Chavez the politician - wouldn't be missed if gone away.......

Sucks to see such leaders like him die,so very few are willing to stand up to the tyrants running our country.

It will be interesting to see what direction Venezuela goes after Chavez is gone.

For the time being, his hand picked successor takes over.
So it'll be "same old" without the "charisma."

Actually it is Diosdello Cabella who will take over (He heads the National Assembly) until an election takes place. Maduro (handpicked successor) will campain for the Chavista's but will need to be elected. This isn't to say Cabella falls far from the tree!

Nah, but it also doesn't make him a "good guy" either.

As far as south america goes, he's not THAT bad. Most of his anti-US schtick is just to distract the population and blame others for internal problems. And before anyone says I'm being unfair....it's a tactic that ALL politicians use.

Sean Penn probably has your same thought......yes what a kind man, all men should hope to grow up to be like Chavez one day.

By the way you can't be "creative" in a Chavez world......
