So that would be someone who chooses to drive a truck instead of a rediculous [sic] "smart" car or prius [sic]... .because they cost WAY more than a truck does, and they don't save that much over the long run on gas! They are for Smug-factor only!!
Just for grins, I checked pricing on the smart car - here - and they are $12,490-17,890. They do take premium gas, which I did not know. MPG is 34/38, not too bad.
Prius is pricier - here - $24,200-30,005 depending on trim. MPG 51/48.
Tacoma - here - $18,185-$28,185 depending on configuration. MPG 15/21 (lowest/highest).
Ford F-150 - here - $23,670-$52,455, depending on configuration. MPG 11/21 (lowest/highest).
Now, drive a truck if you need one (for whatever reason, even psychological), but do try to stick to the facts. We're thinking of getting something trucklike for our work vehicle, ourselves, and we'll pick what we get based on what's best for our needs and still fits our budget.
I think there are more trucks per capita in Texas than any other state.
All sorts of people drive them. Some of course need them every day for their job. Some grew up in rural areas, drove them regularly, and just like them. So they buy them even if they don't haul anything except a large screen TV. Lots of women in Texas drive them too. Often for the same reasons they like SUVs - they like the view above other cars. But they don't want a Tahoe, maybe just to be different.
There is nothing morally wrong in my view with someone driving a truck they don't "need." A large S-class Mercedes' fuel economy is not much different than a Ford F150 with the Ecoboost engine (very popular now).
Pffffffft....most Americans are landlocked. Very few Americans own boats. And half the boat owners I know will say that boats are bad investments anyway, and that they wish they'd never bought one
Furthermore, don't be too impressed with yourself about money. You can finance a boat over a millennium and have dirt cheap payments. Pickups? Hell, I've seen more broke bast*rds with pickups than I can count. All the trailer trash areas of this county are filled with trucks. Not to mention that you can finance 'em over 7-8 years.
So please, back up off of the Thurston Howell III routine.
Are you sure you are from Michigan? You seem like a impostor.
I'm from Scottsdale, Arizona. I was born in Michigan.
Funny....cuz most Michiganders don't own boats or pickups either. Nor do most go fishing.
So being from Michigan is meaningless relative to this topic.
LMAO...That's what I thought. Do you ever get out of your bubble?
50 lakes within 30 minutes....AND I'm just near the State line...3 miles.
You're full of it dude.
Tell 'em guys....
