Let's look at the dishonesty:

A) these aren't coins. They are medallions made not by the Treasury but a private firm.
B) they are offered by the Presidential Inaugural Committee. Mr. Obama has nothing to do with it.
Why do they do it?

Obama’s inaugural committee had a similar store for his first swearing-in four years ago. Proceeds go toward fundraising efforts for the parade, balls and other inaugural celebrations.

There is a special set of these medallions of famous Lesbian and Gay cartoon characters: Peppermint Patty from Peanuts, Big Gay Al from South Park, Velma from Scooby Doo, Snagglepuss ("Exit, stage left..."), Dora The Explorer, Bert and Ernie, etc.

I'm waiting for the special Bugs Bunny one to be minted to complete my collection.
