You don't want Spanish signs in the US, but you have no problem with English signs in foreign countries????
It's not my foreign country. I have no opinion on what they do. And if they choose not to accomodate English speakers in their country, that is their prerogative.
But perhaps you should have kept reading on. English is the language used as a lingua franca across the world. A Chinese visitor to Italy will likely know what the signs in the airport in English say before he does the Italian. And he'll likely be able to speak to the Italian money exchange clerk in English.
An entire half of my family is comprised of immigrants to the United States. Yet, signs aren't put up to accomodate them in their native language. Perhaps they should cry racism that they aren't being accomodated in this park. Can't read English, can't read Spanish, guess you're not allowed AT ALL in the park, huh?
Like DUH!?! Everyone knows English is totally the best language everrrrr!
Flipness of your comment aside, do you deny that English is the language of business, trade and travel across the world?
If you're the Chinese parent of a child, which language are you going to make your child learn? German or English? French used to be the language of the European upper classes, and today it's only the official language of the Olympics (for some strange reason) Sounds pretty I guess.

Yep, that was my original point. Where are all the Mandarin whiners? What, there aren't any? Leave up the sign in English, dump the rest and be done with it.
English though is still the language of business and with globalization becomes more important to learn.
You do have your exceptions though...Spanish in South Florida goes a long way in your career there if you are in banking.
Immigrants are doing themselves and their children a disservice by not learning English unless they never plan to work where English is needed.
Children often learn English in school, just as the children of our ancestors learned it on the streets and in school. I know many Polish, German and Lithuanian families whose older generations spoke very little English the entire time they lived in this country.
While English may be the language of business, I don't think that means other languages should be forgotten about.

No, I don't deny that. However, business is not the end all be all of life. As such, I respect other people's culture and language.

I assure you that other people's culture and language will survive without your pandering. If not than I guess it was not all that great to begin with was it?

You call it pandering, I call it stating my opinion. *shrug*
I believe that jackmcullough has said that he is an attorney.
If he is a lawyer, then one would think that he would understand the reason behind that policy.
Liability.
Then it should have a locked fence around it. Not a racist sign.
