If Hagel really feared deficits he wouldn't have endorsed Obama twice.
Ike did cut defenses, while the Soviets grew stronger. JFk used that as a weapon against Nixon in the 1960 election. BTW,Pat Buchanan is all in for Hagel. That should tell us something.
Yep..that we need Hagel more than ever. And now that i know Buchanan is for him, i'm an even bigger Hagel cheerleader.
What about us? I don't feel betrayed. I just want a competent SecDef.
Who says Hagel is more competent than others? He never held such post before. Judging from his declarations does not provide much indication.
(Interestingly, if I seek a low level job, the list of requirements is very long and always includes a proven track record and relevant experience. Do you think a department store can take the risk of hiring a salesman who did not work in retail)?
I'm fine with this, after all where does it state that one has to bend ALL the way over for Israel to be SecDef? We have enough headaches in the pit of human misery known as the Middle East to add anymore. I want a SecDef that puts our interest first over that troublesome little country.
It's funny how the neo-cons are so Zionist these days.
