Salon.com in a number articles lays out the vast right wing huckster machine behind NewsMax, Beck and Limbaugh who help raise raise money for organizations like Freedom Works which in turn pays them for their endorsement. So much money is raised by these faux outraged pundits(sic) that Freedom Works founder Dick Armey was paid $400,000 per year for 20 years just to walk away. Separating the conservative sheep from their money, according to some reports has left a $2 million slush fun for right wing commentators to help promote the scams.

That's capitalism. If people choose to pay, that's their choice.

Fraud, even when not rising to a level of statutory criminality is still fraud and the last I checked is not a legitimate component of capitalism. People have a right to choose where to spend their money, but when they spend their money it should at least be for the purpose that the money was given. Which as Dick Armey points out, isn't the case,
“If Limbaugh and Beck, if we were using those resources to recruit activists and inform activists and to encourage and enthuse activists, that’s one thing,†Armey explained. “If we are using these things to raise money; one, it’s a damned expensive way to raise money; and two, it makes raising money an end on to itself not an instrumental activity to support the foundation work that our organization does.â€

Interesting....thanks!

I knew something was shady when you'd have Glenn Beck peddling gold with his persona being fear-driven.

Didn't read the whole thing - Beck and Limbaugh were paid to advertise that organization, which they did. Why are they included in the "fraud"? Weren't they just paid for services?

I knw it was a scam. Ever notice it's 99% right-wing news and talk radio that keep peddling gold? The gold bubble is gonna come, it's just fear tactics that they keep using. They've been saying since Obama was elected to buy gold, because the dollar is going to crash soon. Yeah right! That's gold bug talk, which is why I don't listen to right wing paranoid media anymore, it's all bull****. Good thing I make it a rule to never buy anything these people peddle.

Out comes the straw man, LOL. If that's the best you have you should give your fingers a rest.

I would nat care if it was right, left or any other direction I would not give one red cent to any of these bozos. I give to my own church and I ave supported many foster kids over the years through, World Vision. These are good causes and they are accountable to those who contribute.

PS, I'm not patting myself on the back, I could and should give more!

Fraud is illegal. There is no legal fraud. If it's not fraud, there there is no issue.
