I can clear a double feed in less then six seconds. I can clear a FTF or FTE in under two seconds.

Once that cylinder locks or your wheelgun goes out of time, you're screwed.

Five or six shots is nothing to brag about either.

Three perps is pushing it......
I will take a wheel gun for dependability any day of the week!

Hell , if your area is crime free and you can guarantee myself and my family's safety I would like to move there and I'll even disarm. I'll still keep my guns because I enjoy target shooting but if things are as rosey as you say they are there is no need to carry a weapon.
Oh of course things aren't rosy. Gun lovers made d*** sure of that. The country is currently overflowing with weapons from coast to coast, thanks to gun deregulation. No wonder there are areas of crime. And, of course, with so many guns and gun murders and shootings, you grow more and more terrified, which makes you terrified enough to arm yourself even more and build yourself an arsenal to protect yourself against the exponentially-growing number of guns that deregulation allows flowing into your own neighborhood, legally (because just about any psycho can get one), or illegally (because we have more guns than people, so you betcha there will be plenty to be had illegally).

I mean, what other possible solution can there be to the madness caused by gun deregulation but to arm yourself to the teeth with EVEN MORE guns, so you can protect yourself against your wacko neighbors who are packing heat like you? And the more guns you buy, the more there will be, and so the subsequent generations will be buying even more guns to protect themselves against a nation of psychos running around with a smelly holster under their pit, all pretending to be Clint Eastwood at the same damned time, like a really bad Twilight Zone. And round and round it goes, like a malodorous 10th level of American hell.

But even with all you yahoos armed to the point that you look like an army of out-of-shape wannabe rambos, you're STILL far more afraid than I am or you wouldn't have to arm yourselves like terror-stricken little boys. I'm a woman, and I've got the guts to refuse to purchase weapons. I find it sad enough that you all are pretending this is a country under siege and, by golly, are hell-bent on turning it into one. Still, I can't imagine what degree of terror one must have to have to actually have to buy a gun for self-protection. I'm guessing it's a situation in which your knees knock together the minute you wake up, and when you try to feel inside your shorts, you don't find anything much dry there. Sheesh.

Heavens, the way you talk, they must shoot in your windows every night, and hold you up daily, that's all I have to say on that topic.

As I recall that movie the police weren't taking part other than to clean up after the bad guys played their game. Well, they did let Charles run loose with his guns so he could kill the bad guys for them.

So... you spent money on a private class and you spent money on a firearm. Both of which you will never use. Hey, I'm all for trickle down and everything but... I'm sorry, I think its a colossal waste of natural resources to have 300+ million guns in private hands and most of them in gun cases or gun safes or nightstand drawers... ... i.e. where they wouldn't be of much use in an actual emergency anyway.

85% of rapes are committed without any weapon at all. In the rapes where a weapon was used it wasn't actually used. It was just a prop. In an unknown number of cases the victim was also armed. Surprise trumps ALL. Guns are a false comfort, and if it weren't for the fact that so many of the guns in circulation end up being used in crimes it would be easy to just say "go on little gun nut, enjoy the false sense of security". Unfortunately it isn't that easy is it. 30,000 dead people a year says that guns will be stolen and used to commit murder. Gun owners will commit murder, suicide, manslaughter, etc. Guns will do very little actual defending of anyone or anything. Guns were invented to be an offensive weapon, period. End of story.

You can use a crow-bar to open a tin of olives, but a can opener works so much better. You can use a gun to thwart a home invasion, but better home security to prevent intruders from entering in the first place works much, much better. You can use a gun to thwart a rape attack, but only if you know the attack is coming, prescience is not a common human trait at this stage of evolution. You also have a chance to use your gun, if your attacker is inept. Want to bet your personal safety on that? Men would be much better advised paying for self-defense courses for their wives that teach them disabling techniques for attackers that are in close range. A rapist has to get close at some point no matter what kind of gun he has and a victim cannot use a gun unless s/he can get distance from an attacker. Buying a wife or girlfriend a small caliber weapon and a couple of sessions at a shooting range is simply a huge waste of money.

I know, you all won't be convinced. The state of fear and need for vengeance in most Americans is too strong. They don't just want to be safe, they want to **** up the ******* that dared violate the sanctity of their personal space. Or they think they do. Why they think they are so important that anyone would want to even hurt them is what I wonder. I grew up in a Brooklyn ghetto and I have been mugged four times, twice at gunpoint. I was a teen-ager the first two times. In my 20's the third and 33yo the last one. I got out of Brooklyn after that, but didn't get out of NYC until much later. In any case I removed the more egregious threats to my personal safety by moving to safer surroundings. It baffles me that someone like Nancy Lanza who lived in one of the safest places in America felt so unsafe that she needed five firearms... ... and she isn't a rare case.

I now live in suburban Oregon, very safe, and every one on my block (except me) has guns in their home. No one has ever used one... but "you never know". Damn Skippy you never know, they won't ever know, it has been so long since most of them ever took the thing out to oil it or whatever you are supposed to do with a gun... ... at least the hunters and the target shooters are using their guns. You "I got the gun for home safety" types are the real menace. Your guns will most likely injure or kill someone you love. That's not me being mean, thats cold, hard, statistics.

H
So you don't know what this round of gun mania is about? The administration and their media buddies want only to get us disarmed so they can oppress us so much easier. Obama knows that he must get our guns in order to finish his change of our nation. He or somebody who advises him have read enough history that they know the weapons must be removed. Keep making the excuses about how a gun wouldn't help but then come around to thinking about how much easier it would be to make this nation into a socialist tyranny.

Curiously, how did the robbers know the door would be unlocked?

That's why I posted it. Someone made a comment about an "old man". Well, the one in the movie was a WWII VET and he brought something home from the war. "I'll give you son of a b****es something to screach about".....

You're just a pathetic victim. You're an easy target. Any hood can have their way with you ANYTIME they want. You're just damn lucky....it's a bomb waiting to go off.........LUCK that is.

I love it when women bash me and my friends for owning guns. I work a physical blue collar job. I can lift 375 pounds by myself. My hands are like shoe leather. I can put my fist through a drywall wall or inside panel door with one punch. I've dropped hot molten solder in my armpit in a crawlspace and didn't make a peep. It fizzled and left a huge water blister.

I could go on and on......but any of you smart enough get my point........at least 6 inches taller then most of you......at least 75-100 pounds heavier.

All a burgular has to do is test the door knob to see if it's locked. A few crimes are happening down here because people leave their doors unlocked sometimes or kick open the doors. Criminals go house to house testing the door knobs seeing if it was left open and then let themselves in.

Now I have to watch this movie. It seems good in a 70s way

Good god, get some perspective will you. Homicide is at an all time low and violent crime is trending downward as it has been for 30+ years. There are still pockets of crime, but the most dangerous neighborhoods are pretty isolated. All this in spite of overflowing with weapons. The biggest crime related issue we have are the cartels and MS13, but the cartels don't shoot up Americans that often. They keep the bulk of their operation in Mexico and keep a low profile when in the US.

Turn off the tv and go for a walk or read a book. Too much MSM isn't good for you.
