With absolutely no sarcasm I say this is a large part of how Obama got re-elected and why our form of government is dying in lieu of a transitional socialism.
It's always Obama's and Socialisms fault.
If you think college students are the only ones who feel special, you should go to a cop hangout sometime.
We are setting the current generation of college students to be dissatisfied with their lives. These kids need to learn that sometimes believing you can do something is not enough; you've got to work at it and have the ability/skills to begin with. This comes from the everybody is a winner and everyone is equal culture that is in ours schools and our society. Learning to accept disappointment and learning how to overcome failures are two of the most important things a person can learn and are the least painful when learned in childhood. When we don't allow them to experience these things at a young age, we are failing our children.
Looking at the quality of OPs in this forum, I'm surprised it would take college to figure out the stupidity.
How can one be truly confident and self-satisfied when they educationally they rank below their peers in other countries?
The best I can tell is that most Math/Science comparisons only go back 20 +/- years.
I have not found a factual basis for compaison prior to the 90's. If there were, it would not surprise me to learn that the U.S. has improved over the long haul no different than many other countries. Speculation on my part... I doubt we were ever in the top tier in Math and Science.
To me I feel like ish and feel like college was a waste of time because no one wants to hire without experience or a certain amount of experience, even internships want you to have publication of some sort which I am still trying to do but I don't know where to go. And don't get me talking about those friggin student loans
The 'everyone gets a trophy' runs out wayy before high school. By middle school - most boys will know their pecking order and where they stand on the food chain. You think they are all at the top? I assure you - they are not. You think they all have high self esteem? They don't.
By high school - IF your child participates in sports - they will have been told a number of times by various coaches just how worthless they are ~ depending on the coaches mood and how your kid did that day.
Where are you people sending your kids to school that every day is such a 'feel good' experience???
Better to just lie to them and tell them how great they are as they get pounded 60-4 in a hoops game? Then they all line up to get their award. LOL

I've never heard anyone complaining about student loans when they sign up for em. I only hear that after they have to start paying em back.

Unfortunately most 18 year olds aren't well educated about the consequences of student loans when they sign for them. Whose fault is that?
