i agree but i think we are expecting different outcomes. here's another case that could be cited if this goes to trial:

Polygram Records, Inc. v. Superior Court (Calif. 1985).

Polygram Records, Inc. v. Superior Court (Rege) (1985) 170 Cal. App. 3d 543 [216 Cal. Rptr. 252] :: Volume 170 :: Cal. App. 3d :: California Case Law :: US Case Law :: US Law :: Justia

"obvious figments of a comic imagination impossible for any sensible person to take seriously."

Won't work...Mayer donated 1million dollars in Feb I think to one of Obamas fund favorites....plus Maher has got more then enough to back the believability...he did not say 10 or 15 or 30 million but 5 million which would represent less then twenty percent of his known net worth. And as J is saying this should be fun to watch .

Yep. I played it for them on my cellphone.

Trump does not have a snowball's chance of winning as there was no contract. There was a parody in which Trumps equally bogus challenge to the President was being mocked.

Because Trump is a whiny buffoon, playing to the suckers... and you are swallowing it. He has no intention of suing because he (and his legal team) know full well he cannot win. And if you doubt he'd be willing to sit there and lie to a television interviewer, let me remind you of this one:

Remember back in April of 2011 when Trump told Meredith Vieira on the Today Show that he had a team of investigators looking for Obama's birth certificate?

Quote:
Trump: "Well, I have people that actually have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're talking."

Vieira: "You have people now out there searching -- I mean, in Hawaii?"

Trump: "Absolutely. And they cannot believe what they're finding. And I'm serious."
Of course he was lying through his teeth. But he had the birther nutjobs practically creaming in their jeans... just as he has you now.

The guy may be a world class carnival barker, but he sure knows his audience: you.

Trunp doesn't laugh. He's a miserable, scoweling, negative, degranged azzhat.

Because to do so would require the person to be so incredibly stupid as to actually believe that a challenge to prove your father was not an orangutan was a genuine challenge and not a joke on late night TV.

Trumps will not sue, if for no other reason than he will not want to pay that "huge legal fee" of Maher's when Maher wins.

And as stargazzer noted above, he is worth multiple millions of dollars because he actually is pretty funny.

To whom? People here (on both sides) are coming down exactly where they would have if you had merely asked their opinions of Maher or Trump with no ape involved. Both of them have scored with their own audiences, and neither has improved their image with the other.

All that aside... I would still love to see Trump actually sue Maher. Because then we actually would eventually end up with a loser.

And according to the judges I spoke with last night... that will be Trump.
