It was understood that guns were used to procure food and not by a holdup. Didn't need to mention that.

Interesting that Engalnd mandated all men practise archery in case they were needed for service.

The US did the same thing with the director of civilian marksmanship. The dcc was a source of used military weapons going to civilians. Encouraged marksmanship and gun handling. Ever hear of camp Perry?

That's what they do in Switzerland now. It's called a "well-regulated militia".

We would do well in the U.S. to follow Switzerland and Australia in their firearms policies.

Understood by whom? And if that were true there would have been no need for the 2nd amendment.

It just like freedom of speech. We don't need the First Amendment to protect our right to talk about the weather.

The amendments were written mostly to protect us from our own government, not to protect our right to go hunting and talk about the weather.

If you think for one minute that anyone in the US military, especially those who pilot the Stealth bomber would carpet bomb American citizens on US soil you're out of your mind. As a veteran I know for a fact that there aren't many members of the US military who want any part of a war against their own people, many wouldn't be fighting on the side of any tyrannical government.

So you go ahead, you keep up the bigoted comments and you keep insinuating that 50 - 60 million gun owners in the US are nothing more than a bunch of hicks that shouldn't be feared. The people who actually make decisions that really matter know better than to make that mistake.

The old gun nut fantasy about taking up arms against the US government never seems to go out of style. It is absurd to think that a bunch of people with small arms would last more than a few minutes against the US military. I suppose just thinking about it does give the tinfoilers something that can satisfy their fetish for violence.

After seeing the majority of gun owners at the range, it wouldn't even take a military response to defeat most of them. Just making them walk more than about a 1/4 mile would wipe them out. If they set a maximum weight limit for gun purchasers, that alone could eliminate 70% of all sales.

Guns and Hoverounds seem to share a lot of the same customer base.
