It may be while the executive who made the order is in office but doesn't have to be followed by his successor. Also, they are often in violation of the powers allowed to the executive who issues the order. A very good example of this would be the orders threatened by Joe Biden concerning gun control. Think about how simple we have become thinking that those orders really mean anything.

Is An Executive Order a Law that Must be Obeyed?

Default Is an executive order a law that must be obeyed?

No. Citizens break laws all the time, no matter what the law may be.

When the issuer of the Order tells us that it is being done because Congress won't go along with his attempts I have to wonder. I think that Joe Biden and his boss really think they can issue EOs that have to do with infringements of our right to own guns. I don't know. Do you and Obama understand the word, infringement?

Only when the Congress has the guts to use their laws for reasons like this. Well, maybe he could use the veto to override Congress and then they wouldn't override him.

EOs aren't laws and only appear like that because the President will enforce them when he may not enforce laws passed by Congress. It is his job to enforce laws and not write them but some Presidents and their followers don't really understand that he is the enforcer and want him to be the legislator.

Any attempts to circumvent the system and go around the Constitution digs him a deeper grave with the Republican party.

What's next?

I can't hardly wait to find out.

He'll probably have my family and I killed for looking at him the wrong way.

If the present President gets by with any EOs that violate the 2nd Amendment he will soon go to the First one and start making any kind of comment on a forum and even in newspaper, punishable for saying things against him. Give people like that an inch and they will keep taking an inch at a time till they have the whole mile under their belt.
