the point is you still need a license to drive. you need a license to practice medicine. you need a license to be a contractor. you need to be licensed to do many things. heck, you need a license to fish or hunt in many places. you should also be licensed to own a gun IMO.
You need a license to carry too. Everything you're listing is not ownership of an object but the use of it in public.
Waiting periods are a great idea. I think next election everyone should have to show up at the poll and submit to a background check. If it comes back clean then they can return to the poll in a couple of days and vote.
Don't know why anybody would have a problem with that...
SO Itake it that you support showing id when voting right?
I don't have a problem with that. and frankly I don't know why anyone would be against showing valid ID to vote at the polls. if you are a legit US citizen you wont have any problem getting a valid ID.
if you don't have your ID or you lost it then you can simply vote by absentee mail which does not require it.
Do you need a license to park your car in your garage and never take it on the streets? NOPE.. If you have a firearm in your house, you don't need a license... To carry a firearm on the street you need a license... It's called a CHL.. Concealed Handgun "License"...
It is liberal thinking that some day you will get pissed off, go buy a gun and shoot somebody. Just more idiocy.
Dude, that happens probably somewhere in the U.S. every day given that for every firearm-related fatality there are two non-fatal firearm-related injuries.
I looked it up, to say that the NRA wrote the "instant check" that is in the 1993 Brady Bill is laughable, they did everything they could to defeat the bill and lost.
You need to take things into perspective.
The whole Brady bill is stupid to begin with. A criminal buying guns was already a crime. Instead of getting tough on the criminals, they decided to get tough on every citizen but when a criminal attempted to buy a gun, they don't do crap. Nice!!!
Since it's stupid, NRA fought against it. As a compromise to mass stupidity, NRA proposed NCIS. In the end, NRA lost its cause of preventing your right from encroachment and you don't even appreciate their effort.
